Sustainability is probably the most important and significant aspect of today and the future. We have also put the topic of sustainability at the top of our agenda because we want to leave our earth green for our children and grandchildren. Environmental awareness is of central importance at Bierothek® and concerns us every day.
For our cooled central warehouse near Bamberg, we only use electricity that is produced from 100% renewable hydropower . Our central warehouse, from where we supply all of our stationary Bierothek® branches and ship all online shops and B2B orders, is optimally insulated so that as little electricity as possible has to be used and we therefore protect the environment.
But we don't stop there: We offset the resulting greenhouse gas emissions through climate protection projects by planting trees for the environment .
But we also take maximum responsibility towards our environment when it comes to shipping:
Our shipping boxes are delivered by our suppliers with a minimum of plastic . The shipping boxes for our packages for end customers and large customers are sealed with minimal amounts of adhesive tape. We save plastic wherever possible in order to leave a green footprint on our earth.
We send each of our national parcels through DHL with GOGREEN , through which the resulting greenhouse gas emissions are offset by DHL with climate protection projects .
In order to be able to ship our beers in the packages unbreakable, we do not use any plastic , only 100% recyclable cardboard compartments. The shipping spaces in the packages are also optimally filled so that as few cardboard boxes as possible are needed and the ecological footprint is as sustainable as possible. We only use a small amount of adhesive tape to seal the package.
Thanks to all of the measures we take for our planet at Bierothek®, we can proudly claim that we are CO2 neutral . However, we will not stop here and now with the issue of environmental protection, but will continue to optimize our processes and procedures so that even more waste and greenhouse gases can be saved.
We meet the requirements for compliance with the requirements of the EC-ÖKO-VO. We are a certified organic retailer (BIO control number: DE-BY-006-49501-H) at the organic control body Bio DE-Öko006.
