Beer tradition from Sonthofen
The roots of Hirschbräu go back more than 350 years. The Sonthofen brewery has a rich brewing tradition and has been run by the Höss family for over 160 years. And although large parts of the brewery were destroyed in the Second World War, Höss's fighting spirit is unbroken: With a lot of love and passion for good beer and their homeland, the people of Sonthofen stand up for what is important to them. This not only includes first-class beer, but also friendly dealings with the suppliers of the raw materials. The hops come from Bavarian family businesses and the barley also comes from the region. The wonderful water from the brewery's own fountain tops it all off and makes the beer from the Hirschbräu a real treat. In addition to classics and craft beer, the Bavarian brewery brews real highlights like its Golden Deer : The Eisbock is a piece of beer history and is brewed using a traditional process and the finest ingredients.
Living beer culture
However, the Hirschbräu is only part of the beer empire: In addition to the brewery in Sonthofen, there is another brewery in the Allgäu. At Alms, brewing takes place in the hallowed halls of a former ski lift at an altitude of over 1000 meters. In addition to the two breweries, which provide traditional and modern beer specialties from the Allgäu, Hans-Hermann Höss and Christian Köster are working together to spread Bavarian beer culture in Germany and the world. The two passionate beer lovers see themselves as ambassadors of Bavarian brewing art and proclaim the good news of good beer not only in the form of their beers, but also through a whole range of beer gift items and great beer experiences. The Bierstachel experience package , for example, is a fantastic combination of both categories: The Bierstachel is an excellent gift for beer lovers and is a special kind of beer experience. Using a hot iron, the sugar in the Doppelbock supplied is caramelized and transformed into a creamy delicacy. Beer spiking takes beer enjoyment to the next level and is great fun for bock beer fans.
