Shrovetide, carnival, carnival - it doesn't matter what you call the fifth season, the main thing is that you celebrate it properly. Before Lent, which is full of deprivation, begins, there is a lot of cleaning going on in Germany. It is not for nothing that Carnival is called the “foolish time”: creative costumes, colorful carnival parades, camels, doughnuts, brass music and funny hand-made speeches are traditionally part of it and are celebrated around Rose Monday.
