Karlsberg Brauerei

Anyone who lives in Saarland and enjoys drinking beer will most likely not be able to avoid drinking the fine beers from the Karlsberg brewery, and the traditional brewery has also made a name for itself in the rest of Germany. The good reputation even extends abroad, and that is due to the team's good business sense and, of course, the outstanding beers.

With discipline to the top

The history of the Karlsberg Brewery officially begins in 1878 with the purchase of the Jacobi Brewery. Christian Weber saves the Homburg Brewery from ruin by taking it over, completely restructuring it and renaming it. The name Karlsberg Brewery is derived from Karlsberg Castle, which is located not far from the brewery and is still a landmark of Homburg today. After the name was found, processes were made more efficient, expenses were strictly monitored, equipment was brought up to date and technology was modernized. The effort was worth it and the brewery's output multiplied. In order to keep its finger on the pulse and to be able to make the necessary investments, the brewery was converted into a joint stock company almost 20 years later. The money generated by the sale of shares was used to expand and develop the brewery. This important step allowed production to be increased further and when the Weber family took over the reins again in 1937, the brewery's output was already a respectable 90,000 hectoliters per year.

Award-winning beer from Homburg

This number continues to grow and cannot be permanently diminished by the trials and tribulations of the Second World War. The brewery makes a name for itself worldwide with its delicious beers and goes through several changes of ownership over the decades, only to end up back in the hands of the Weber family. The brewery's recipe for success is not only its good sense of economic processes and its willingness to make changes and necessary steps without hesitation, but also its wide range of down-to-earth, hand-brewed classics. Its lager was recently named the best lager in the world by the judges of the World Beer Awards in London, and its Strong bock beer is one of the favorites. In addition to brewing, the team at the Karlsberg brewery is committed to promoting young musical talent. They have launched the band contest "Karlsberg rocks!" and are looking for new talent for the German music scene in a great spectacle.
