Schoppe Bräu

Unusual names are now part of the standard ABC of the modern craft beer brewer. And hey, it's legitimate to have your illustrious range represented by a unique name. However, the small Schoppe brewery in Germany's colorful capital shows that you can be fancy and still get by without big anglicisms and extravagant neologisms.

Real beer instead of mass-produced beer

Behind the simple name lies a real avant-gardist: Thorsten Schoppe caused a sensation in the beer world years ago and helped launch the craft beer movement. At some point, the inspired brewer got tired of large-scale brewing and returned to the craft roots and the original art of brewing. Boilers instead of computers was the motto that ultimately led to Thorsten starting his own thing. Since then, the humorous motto “Hops, malt and elbow grease” has applied, which perfectly describes the small-scale production. Excellent beers are carefully handcrafted using select ingredients of the finest quality. Real craftsmanship, authenticity and roots in their brewing home are extremely important to Berliners. What's not as important, however, is that the best beer is ultimately created. Taste is a priority and the ultimate goal is to free beer from the bland shackles of industrial breweries. The hip brewers stand for more diversity and are taking the craft world by storm. Beer should no longer just be beer, but rather a luxury food that stands for itself with its aroma composition, variety of tastes and individuality.

Beery variety from Kreuzberg

The honest concept of the Berliners is well received and above all in the bottles: Behind the stylishly designed labels lies only “extraordinary” beer, seasoned with a powerful pinch of Berlin. Schoppe has been using the mash paddle since 2001 and the capital brewery's wide range now includes more than 15 types of beer, and the trend is constantly increasing. The demand for creative, unique and young beers is great and Schoppe Bräu is happy to meet this demand. No Juice , Hangover Breakfast and Holy Shit Ale are three of the best-known - and most popular - representatives on offer. The brewery also recently launched a whole range of organic beers, which are sold under the Schoppes Bär label. Organic barley malt and hops are used to produce organic beer with a first-class taste and a clear conscience. Another highlight on Schoppe's beer shelf is her Brut Ale : the finest top-fermented ale is fermented with exclusive Champagne yeast to create a sparkling masterpiece and stuffed with the highly aromatic Hallertauer Blanc hop variety. The result is an extremely noble beer that can stand up to any champagne.
