Vienna evokes associations with Wiener Schnitzel, Sachertorte and Kaiserschmarrn, but the capital of Austria has had a culinary attraction for some time now. Five guys are conquering the beer world with their creative, innovative beers. With Austrian charm and a lot of passion, the brewers are fighting against boring standard beer.
Volcanoes are a force of nature that inspires a lot of respect for many people. Powerful eruptions, bubbling lava and unpredictability make volcanoes fascinating elements of our earth. Drawing on the magical creativity of volcanoes, the young brewery Brew Age has chosen the volcano as its logo. Instead of creating new islands and lands, the brewers create unique beers that stand out from the crowd of standard beers with excellence and creativity. Run-of-the-mill beer is a thing of the past, today we drink sophisticated, varied, flavorful beers from craft breweries! But it's not just the creative power that is reminiscent of the force of a volcano, the taste explosion that awaits you when you enjoy Brew Age's beers is also reminiscent of a volcanic eruption. The brewers work every day with a lot of dedication and passion to produce beers that delight with an extraordinary range of flavors and aromatic depth. Brew Age's beers like the box office hit Alphatier generate moments of enjoyment and are so drinkable that you'll become a fan after just one bottle.
Like many other young craft brewers, Tom and Johannes' careers began within their own four walls. As hobby brewers, the two tried countless brews and found that their beer was of good quality and excellent taste. When Tom's brother Michael joined the company, there were initial discussions as to whether the hobby should be turned into a career. Some craft beer breweries that are successful today started out as home brewers in their own garage. Tom, Johannes and Michael didn't want to rush into things and decided to become “real” brewers first. Tom and Johannes enrolled at the TU in Weihenstephan and learned the craft of brewing from scratch. Equipped with a diploma and another team member, the adventure could now begin. As settled gypsy brewers, they rented space at the Gusswerk brewery and from then on brewed their own beer under the Brew Age label. But anyone who knows the five boys Michael, Tom, Johannes, Raphael and Christian knows that this is far from the end point. The five dream of having their own brewery in Vienna and are busy producing delicious, innovative beers until this plan is implemented.
Next time we're in Vienna we'll have beer instead of Sachertorte, that's for sure!
