Elixi

Euboea is the second largest of the Greek islands and a place where people have lived for thousands of years. Its capital is Chalkida and it is connected to the mainland by two bridges. The island in the Mediterranean attracts visitors primarily with picturesque beaches, crystal-clear water, ancient architecture and breathtaking nature. The islanders also make their own wine and have fantastic Mediterranean cuisine. Red and white wine go perfectly with taramosalata, fish, souvlaki and the like, but beer also complements the hearty culinary variety excellently. For ten years now, the ELIXI microbrewery, located not far from Euboea, has been supplying the finest craft beers that taste great with Greek food, everything else, or even without food at all.

Drosia – good water, good connections

It all began in 2014 when Dia Papanikolaou and George Kostopoulos met a highly decorated and award-winning Italian brewmaster: According to legend, Dia, George and Davide Zingareli met by chance and decided to brew their own barley juice over a beer together. They created their first brews under the name Delphi Beer. At that time, the brewing was still carried out in Davide's brewery in Italy, but a short time later they moved into their own four walls in Drosia. This location was chosen because it offers excellent water quality and because it is right next to the major highway that runs across the whole of Greece. This convenient location shortens transport routes and enables ELIXI to deliver fresh beer in no time at all. The vision of the family business sees consistent quality and the best taste as its top priority. The team also values the inclusion of their Greek homeland, transparency and supporting their community.

Craft beer with Greek flair

When brewing, ELIXI does not filter or pasteurize its works. This conscious omission of two intermediate steps that are common in many breweries ensures that the beers have a natural, flavorful and tangible character. After the brewing process is complete, the brews also undergo a second fermentation in the bottle. The result of this gentle production is beers such as the non-alcoholic Hibiscus IPA , which are accessible and wrap customers around their fingers with their versatile taste. The range consists of classics of the craft beer scene that have been interpreted in a modern and Greek way. Since 2023, ELIXI has been part of Septem , one of our favorite Greek breweries.
