Früh Kölsch

Kölsch is a term that has been protected by the Cologne Brewery Association since 1985. At that time, the so-called Kölsch Convention was established and entered in the Federal Gazette of the Federal Cartel Office. Since then, beers can only be called Kölsch if they are brewed on Cologne soil and made according to the prescribed brewing method. Today, real Kölsch is brewed by almost ten breweries in the Cologne city area. The traditional Cölner Hofbräu Früh is one of the chosen breweries and has been brewing the finest Kölsch for more than 125 years.

Beer from the heart of Cologne

The brewery restaurant is located in a prominent location in Cologne's city center: not far from Cologne Cathedral and the city's famous sights, you can enjoy the finest Kölsch here. The brewery was founded by Peter Josef Früh in 1895. At that time the brewery was still called aposteln-bräu. Peter sold his first brewery three years later and shortly afterwards dedicated himself to a new project: on the site of today's brewery, he built a brand new brewery, which soon became a popular meeting place for Cologne residents and their visitors. After Peter's death, his wife and daughters continued the brewery. After the brewery was almost completely destroyed in the Second World War, things are looking up again after the war years. Today the fifth generation of the Früh family is at the helm and is continuing the success of the last century.

Cologne hospitality

Hospitality is also part of Cologne's culinary culture and its joy of life. For centuries, Cologne has welcomed countless tourists who flock to the city to marvel at the world-famous Cologne Cathedral and its sights. The people of Cologne are happy to let their visitors share their attitude to life. With their direct, open-hearted and flippant nature, the residents of the Rhine city cast a spell over foreigners and invite them to enjoy Cologne with all their senses. Beer is part of the culture and should not be missing at any rest stop. Früh Kölsch welcomes guests from far and near to the brewery and tempts them to linger with beer and culinary specialties. A handful of traditional Köbesse ensure the physical well-being of visitors and complement the food and drink with their charm and wit. The Cologne interpretation of a classic waiter is known for her quick-witted mouth and should not be missing in any pub. The right beer for Köbes is of course Kölsch: As one of the few breweries that are officially allowed to brew real Kölsch, Früh Kölsch is one of the nine contact points in the city.
