His company stands for modern, down-to-earth beer with a focus on origin, raw materials, and artisanal precision. From hobby to handwriting

Quellmalz was born from a passion for craft beer and the desire to independently realize his own flavor ideas. Thomas is a passionate beer enthusiast who discovered all kinds of craft beers on his travels. He tasted warming stouts in Canada's snowy landscapes, light and fluffy session IPAs on Bondi Beach in Sydney, and meditative lagers with rice in picturesque gardens in faraway Asia – and the world's beer diversity inspired him so much that he decided to put his own beer-related ideas into practice. What began on a small scale gradually developed into an independent brand with a clear profile. From the very beginning, the goal wasn't to produce as many beers as possible, but to create distinctive and meticulously crafted varieties. Thomas approached brewing with curiosity and a spirit of experimentation, while also maintaining a deep respect for traditional techniques. With growing experience, a unique style emerged. To ensure the adventure could begin without delay, Thomas found a local brewery that continues to implement his recipes under his guidance to this day.

Quellmalz's range combines classic beer styles with modern influences. Alongside traditional interpretations like Helles, Pilsner, and wheat beer, they also produce hop-forward pale ales and other modern, expressive specialty beers. All share a clear structure, clean fermentation, and balanced aromas. Instead of extreme effects, Quellmalz focuses on balance and drinkability. The interplay of ingredients is always central.
