Ratsherrn Brauerei GmbH

Tradition and nostalgia – these are two different things that have already made a lot of difference in the brewing industry.
have caused and may still cause.

So let’s just think back to the year 1896.
The first modern Olympic Games will be held in Athens again. Are you wondering what this has to do with Ratsherrn? It has all been there before, disappeared, been approved for use again and been re-released. This is also the case with Ratsherrn. Ratsherrn Pilsener was first brewed for sale in 1951. At that time, the beer was still one of Hamburg's most popular brands and was produced in the Elbschloss brewery with an annual output of 150,000 hectoliters. In 1995, this brewery was shut down and the quiet end of the Ratsherrn brewery was sealed. Not for long, however, because the brand has been around again since 2012, but the route is completely different. While the "traditional" Ratsherrn - with all due respect - was more industrial in nature, today the brewery restricts itself to the traditional, artisanal brewing process. Hamburg currently has six different regular, four seasonal and two special varieties.
The output, which was around 150,000 hectolitres at the height of the traditional Hamburg brewery, will probably not be reached. But that shouldn't happen anyway, after all, every bottled beer is a work of art.
