In the core range of many breweries, there is a non-alcoholic version alongside a range of traditional brews. However, this option often feels like an afterthought or an alternative to the actual beer. Things are quite different at zeroLabs.
Moritz and Max believe that alcohol does not have to be a permanent part of our lives - even if we like to end our working day with a cold beer, drink a wheat beer for Sunday brunch or ring in the weekend with a bottle every Friday. They do not want to demonize alcohol, but they also recognize that it is much less harmful to health in moderation than in large quantities. So why not make beer with alcohol a celebrated exception and include beer without alcohol in our daily routine? To make this step easier for themselves, us and you, the two founded zeroLabs and devote all their attention to producing an alcohol-free brew that is no compromise. Max and Moritz not only do without alcohol, they also leave out artificial flavors, flavor enhancers and added sugar. Their work is called Unfiltered 0.0 and after a year of development was so well-rounded and delicious that it is now available for purchase. In production, zeroLabs places value on high-quality raw materials, but also on its ecological footprint. Some measures to protect the environment include recyclable packaging, CO2-neutral shipping and short transport routes when procuring ingredients.
ZeroLabs masterpiece is based on four select basic ingredients: hops from Hallertau, regional barley malt, water from the brewery's own well and yeast from a yeast bank in Weihenstephan. These fine raw materials are processed into a tasty beer using traditional craftsmanship, the latest technology and within a time frame of six weeks. The aroma profile is made up of notes of oven-fresh bread, crisp bitterness, playful citrus notes, biscuit and spicy yeast. Sugar is added to many non-alcoholic beers to artificially generate fullness and flavor. ZeroLabs deliberately omits this step and creates fullness and depth by perfecting the brewing process. The effect is supported by the omission of filtration: turbidity and sediment give the beer body and flavor. Thanks to a sophisticated technique for removing the alcohol, Unfiltered actually has 0.0% alcohol content and, because it is free of residual alcohol, can even be enjoyed by pregnant women and teetotalers.
