Zillertal Bier

At this point we would like to introduce you to the oldest private brewery in Tyrol. Zillertal Bier is a traditional Tyrolean company and can look back on more than 520 years of brewing history. The family brewery goes back to Ludwig Jobst and is now run by the Lechners in the 16th generation.

The finest Tyrolean beer made from the finest ingredients

The family is particularly proud of their excellent raw materials. The ingredients for the fine Zillertal beer are mainly sourced from farmers in the region and the growing areas are selected with care and a good eye for quality. The Lechners maintain a close relationship with their suppliers and know the people who cultivate their raw materials with passion and dedication by their first names. In some cases, the connections between the brewery and farmers go back several generations and you can almost say that the farmers are part of the family. In addition to selecting the best grains and hops, water plays a key role. Beer is largely made up of water and it contributes to the taste and mouthfeel. The basis for the Lechner family's beer specialties is Zillertal mountain water. The cool water is drawn directly from the source and is characterized by its low level of hardness. The soft water makes the beer a real comforter and is the perfect basis for the brewers' creative work. The hand-picked raw materials and water are supported by an essential element: time. To mature to its full glory, beer needs rest and time. At Lechner they like to give the beer this time and their patience is rewarded with tasty results.

Enthusiastically

Everything we create and brew at Zillertal Bier follows a mission. The family and their employees want to inspire. Passion, discipline, commitment and responsibility are based on an enthusiasm that drives and motivates the team every day. With its wonderful beer creations, the brewery wants to carry on this enthusiasm and infect its customers. The brewery maintains a special bond with its region: some restaurants have been supplying Zillertal Bier with delicious beer for 500 years. In order to not only supply the people of the region with beer, but also to equip them with the necessary beer knowledge, the brewery recently opened the BrauKunstHaus. On an extensive exhibition area, curious beer fans can get an exciting insight into the work of the brewery and learn interesting facts about the Tyrolean brewing tradition.

If you would also like to be part of the brewery's illustrious circle of friends, you have the opportunity to get to know and love Zillertal Bier's brews here. Who knows, maybe a relationship will emerge that will last for the next 500 years?
