The original. Too often this term is only associated with the origin. True, but that's only half the truth. Instead, what really sets an original apart is its distinctive character. The St. ERHARD® Original definitely has that.
Just a look at the transparent Steinie bottle reveals: the Franconian cellar beer is a truly unique piece. Another advantage - in order to see the strong amber-like color, the cellar beer doesn't even have to be poured. But the content is still more important than the award-winning packaging (German Design Award 2014). And here too the St. ERHARD® comes across as somewhat atypical. Hop and malt aromas become clear during the olfactory test, which then also develop in the mouth. The noble roasted malt aromas convey the reserved sweetness, while the aromatic hops announce a balanced bitter note. Overall, the St. Erhard® Original is a rather reserved drink - not too strong, not too bitter, but perfect for warm summer days in a cozy environment.
Here we tested the St. ERHARD® Original at the virtual beer seminar:
Water, barley malt (Pilsener, Wiener, Cara-Münch®), hops (Tettnanger)
