The cellar beer is a true classic in the wide range of the Riegele brewery from Augsburg. The full-bodied beer is bottled directly from the barrels in the brewery’s fermentation cellar and inspires with its down-to-earth character and the wonderfully fruity kick. The latter is attributable to the yeast: A special ale yeast ensures fermentation and freshness in the beer. In addition to this special ingredient, the three types of Juramalt give the beer its wonderful taste.
Riegeles Kellerbier is presented in a rich chestnut brown in the glass and has a snow-white crown of airy foam on its head. A fruity scent of ripe apricots, juicy peaches and plums rises from the foamy splendor, which in the nose combines with the aroma of freshly baked bread to create a tempting mixture. The initial taste reveals a strong body with a velvety-soft mouthfeel and a great harmony of hops and malt. On the palate, notes of roasted grains meet oven-fresh bread and a hint of rock candy. The hops and yeast contribute a light-footed fruitiness that is reminiscent of apples, stone fruits and summer flower meadows. A gentle bitter undertone completes the play of aromas. The finish is floral and bitter.
The unfiltered beer is wonderfully tasty at 5.0% and tastes best at a temperature of around 8 degrees. Well get it!
