There was a delicious expansion of the range of the private country brewery Schönram in spring 2021: The brewery from Schönram added a fine example to its selection of seasonally available specialty beers. The new member is a Heller Bock, who enriches the brewery’s beer variety with a skilful balance between hops and malt.
With a hefty 7.8% alcohol content, the Helle Bock definitely falls into the strong beer category. The seasonal beer is presented in a deep golden hue in the glass and has a large-pored head of foam on the crystal-clear body. From the white, fluffy splendor, a seductive scent of tropical fruits rises into the nose. The exotic potpourri tempts you to drink with aromas of passion fruit, peach and citrus fruits. The initial taste follows the olfactory first impression and floods the mouth with a juicy wave of fruit. Little by little, a stable malt base builds up that tastes like fragrant hay and spicy mountain blossom honey. The soft sweetness is skilfully balanced by the hops: The green gold brings a sparkling freshness into play and also provides a nice bitterness. The beer enjoyment leads to a sweet, surprisingly dry finale, which warms body and soul with 7.8% alcohol and arouses the desire for another bottle.
An excellent buck that goes perfectly with the first mild evenings of the year!
