In order to keep brewers and customers happy and to prevent boredom in the beer glass, the private country brewery Schönram repeatedly brings out limited special brews. Available for a limited time, these specialty beers will freshen up the selection and give brewers the opportunity to try their skills on beers outside of the core range from time to time.
A fine example in a limited edition is the Schönramer Weißbier Bock. The wonderful strong beer emphasizes the delicious properties of a wheat beer and complements them with a little extra alcohol and depth of taste.
In the glass, the Weizenbock shines in a caramel tone clouded by yeast veils, with a creamy head of foam enthroned on top. The usual scent of a classic wheat is joined by strong notes of ripe pears, apples and tangerines as well as a hint of toffee and hints of vanilla. In the taste test, the first thing that strikes you is the velvety-soft mouthfeel: a thick, almost velvety texture ensnares the palate and charms the tongue with notes of ripe banana, golden pineapple, juicy pear and floral hops. Yeast, cloves and the aroma of dark forest honey add spice. The grand finale creates a finish with mild bitterness, powerful yeast and subtle acidity. Despite its decent 6.8% alcohol content and the voluminous stature, the Weizenbock is refreshing and easy to drink.
