Every brewery has beers that are particularly well received by customers. At Weihenstephan, Vitus is one of these golden boys. The Weizenbock is not only popular with the brewery’s friends and acquaintances, it is also popular with the judges of various competitions. The brew has performed particularly well in national and international competitions and has brought its makers a whole series of coveted awards. The reason for this could be the long storage time: In order to achieve a balanced, round character, the brew is allowed to rest for a particularly long time. The strong beer lives up to its title with a whopping 7.7% alcohol content. The alcohol content is counteracted by a mild 17 bitter units and a subtly balanced taste.
Vitus flows into the glass in a warm golden tone and piles up a creamy head of foam on its rich, cloudy body. The olfactory bouquet is reminiscent of freshly baked banana cake. If you put the glass to your lips, you will be rewarded with a full-bodied beer experience: velvety notes of ripe bananas, spicy cloves, sponge cake and grainy grain spread across the tongue. Strong yeast notes, a hint of caramel and citrus fruity notes round off the tasty overall picture. The alcohol is excellently integrated into the taste profile and only becomes noticeable when it has already gone to your head.
