Sloths are highly underestimated creatures: the cozy inhabitants of tropical rainforests are often ridiculed for their slow pace and their increased need for rest and relaxation. In times of smartphones, globalization and the like, this way of life increasingly appears to some as the more desirable one. Stress is a widespread disease that has reached alarming proportions in the last decade. Moving in slow motion, sleeping for hours and eating and resting a little for a change suddenly looks quite tempting in the context of these developments.
Moe is a fellow sloth and our springboard into sweet idleness. The light summer ale from Braukollektiv Freiburg is a delicately balanced masterpiece of hops and malt that is intended to bring us closer to the serenity of sloths.
Moe flows calmly and slowly into the glass in a golden amber tone and forms a fluffy, white head of foam. The hop varieties used: Motueka, Mosaic, Cascade and Perle can already be sensed in the scent: a refreshing fruit note creates a happy fruit party in the nose and makes you want to take your first sip. This reveals the full magic of hops. A whole load of hops rests on a soft, slightly caramel Maz base, which presents itself in all its facets. Fresh and fruity, it shows notes of mango, gooseberries and citrus fruits; clean and tart, it is reminiscent of the peel of pink grapefruit. A subtle bitterness perfectly underlines the hoppy aromas.
