Great white sharks are generally not very popular. They suffer from the rumor of being man-eating monsters and rather brutal in nature. Not so Laird. It also belongs to the genus of great white sharks, but is more fruity than scary. With his excellent taste and sociable nature, he is the perfect ambassador for improving human-shark relationships and is endearing for that reason alone. Laird comes from the Freiburg brewing collective and tasted excellent to our award-winning beer sommelier.
Laird comes naturally cloudy and in a beautiful golden yellow, its head is adorned with a creamy white, fine to medium-pored foam. If you pour it in, fruity scents of pomelo and pineapple appear, paired with a gentle note of fresh grass. The fine, sparkling drink shows Laird's full-bodied character and tastes of blood orange and grapefruit peel, which brings a pleasant bitterness.
As a West Coast IPA, the Laird is well-hopped and appropriately bitter. Its strong malt body is supported by great fruitiness and makes it the ideal summer beer. Fresh salads, crunchy vegetables and Asian curries taste particularly good with it!
But Laird also tastes good without accompaniment, we promise!
