Under the wide wings of the snowy owl, the finest beers are produced in Germany's capital. Ulrike Genz, a passionate brewer and master of elegant wheat beers, is in charge. Her heart's project is the renaissance of the Berliner Weisse - not the one spoiled with syrup, but the original Berliner Weisse, which does not require any syrup and is nevertheless wonderfully fruity and intensely aromatic. In addition to very classic interpretations, Ulrike shows courage for innovation and likes to throw one or the other unconventional ingredient into the cauldron.
She has a talent for pairing flavors with Flora , for example. The fine Flower Sour is relaunched every year and refined with blossoms and other fragrant raw materials.
The 2020 version is called Flora Speziaal and is brewed with a particularly fine addition: hand-plucked rose petals give the beer its floral aroma. But Flora has a lot more surprises up her sleeve: in addition to the delicate rose buds, ginger and the peel of oranges, lemons and pomegranates are also used. A portion of lactic acid bacteria combines the fruity potpourri and also gives the beer a wonderfully creamy, velvety-soft quality. The fine drop combines the earthy spiciness of ginger with light-footed acidity, tangy fruit, summery flowers and a hint of vanilla. Absolutely tasty and wonderful for sharing!
