There’s something new at Gutsbrüder!
The guys from Koblenz have added a cold-hopped session pale ale to their small but fine range. Palm Treez is a light, flaky ale with a relaxed 3.7% alcohol content that was brewed with the hops Calypso, Citra and Vic Secret. The brothers lovingly call their creation “Dosecco”, which describes their light session pale ale wonderfully: Palm Treez is super tangy, refreshing and comes in practical cans.
If you pour Palm Treez into your glass, you can expect a gently cloudy beer in a wonderful orange-gold. On top of the golden splendor sits a fine, white head of foam, which smells intensely of citrus fruits, tropical fruits, grassy and floral hops, herbs and resin. The fireworks of aromas in the nose continue on the tongue: The first taste reveals a juicy beer with sparkling carbon dioxide and an excellent bouquet of hops. Bitter, fruity, sweet and tart notes of freshly mown grass, spicy hops, summer flower meadow, pine resin, herbs and juicy fruits present themselves on the palate. The malt adds a touch of cookies, which goes well with the hops. The mouthfeel is creamy, although the beer comes with playful lightness and sparkling carbon dioxide. In the finish, Palm Treez is crisp and bitter and brings a touch of fruit.
