The then almost unknown Cascade hop variety gives this American classic its sophisticated taste and makes it one of the most popular and best-selling craft beers in the United States to this day. The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company hit the jackpot with their Pale Ale and went down in history.
The pale ale flows into the glass in a deep amber tone and is crowned by a white foam. Crispy hop notes rise from the small head of foam, ranging from juicy fruit to freshly mown grass and herbs. The initial taste reveals a full-bodied, voluminous body with a complex character and mild carbonation. The beer refreshes the tongue and palate with clear, clean hop notes and a nice bitterness. The tangy citrus notes come into their own wonderfully on the soft malt base. A spicy hint of pine resin elegantly rounds off the aromatics before the drinking pleasure ends in a hoppy, smooth finish.
