The British Wychwood Brewery has been known for its creative, exceptional craft beers for years. The brewery has been brewing innovative beers that stand out from the traditional ale in Great Britain since the 1980s. Although you can also find traditional beers in the range, fancy hop experiments and flavor-intensive beer creations are much more common.

Hobgoblin, one of the brewery’s first craft beers, also falls into the category of exceptional beers. The Kobold is brewed from three different aromatic hop varieties: Fuggles, Styrian and Goldings and, thanks to the types of malt used, is a malt-focused dessert of a beer.

Hobgoblin presents itself in a deep red copper tone in the glass and forms a slightly browned head of foam. An arrangement of malty and hoppy scents rises from the creamy, beige foam. The connoisseur smells soft caramel, roasted malt, delicately melting chocolate, floral hop flowers and a hint of orange marmalade. The initial taste reveals a full-bodied body with finely sparkling carbon dioxide. Dark chocolate, toffee and ripe red fruits meet on the tongue. The initial sweetness is quickly joined by a wonderful bitterness that complements the sweetness wonderfully.

Hobgoblin is not a beer that you just drink when you’re thirsty. Rather, we recommend drinking this special beer at a good temperature and from a suitable glass if you have some time. Hobgoblin requires attention, which is definitely rewarded by the complex flavor nuances.
