The Espresso Stout is another extremely successful stout from the collection of the Dutch brewery Emelisse, which delights us with its seductive coffee notes.
Coffee divides the nation, you either love it or hate it. The situation is different with beers that are brewed with coffee beans. Almost everyone likes them. When brewing Emelisse's Espresso Stout, two types of coffee beans, Arabica and Robusta, are used to create the unique taste. The deep black beer has a foam that is reminiscent of the crema of freshly made coffee. It is pleasantly carbonated and light on its feet for a full-bodied imperial stout. When pouring, a wonderfully malty scent rises to the nose, which mixes with soft caramel, roasted aromas, dry fruits, dark chocolate and of course coffee. On the tongue, the aromatic play increases from caramel roasted malt notes to the aroma of dried fruits to the brilliant coffee finish. The unmistakable taste of strong mocha lingers until the finish and brings with it a delicious bitterness.
Despite its impressive 9.5% ABV, Emelisse's Espresso Stout has a soft mouthfeel and is extremely drinkable and tasty. Dear coffee enthusiasts, this beer is for you.
Plus, it's the ideal way to convert all coffee haters!
