Emelisse’s latest creation is an Eisbock. But not just any Eisbock, but one with a whopping 16.0% alohol content and at least as much taste.
The Imperial Iced IPA from Emelisse is a special kind of beer: a fabulous ten types of malt and an unprecedented number of unbelievable 16 hop variations find their way into this epic creation. And as if that wasn’t intense enough, the IPA is frozen too. By bringing the beer below freezing point, you reduce the water content and, conversely, intensify both the alcohol content and the fullness of taste. At the end of this legendary process there is an IPA that can hardly be surpassed in terms of intensity and exclusivity.
Emelisses Imperial Iced IPA is the opposite of a Session IPA and we love the powerful beer for its delicious opulence. The Dutch masterpiece flows into the glass in bright mahogany and shimmers ruby red when the light falls. A large amount of creamy, fine-pored foam sits enthroned on the beer and gives off a seductive scent. The initial taste reveals an extremely voluminous body with dark aromas and an almost impenetrable complexity. The abundance of malts creates a complex structure of strong roasted aromas, the hops conjure up a dark fruitiness and crisp bitterness. The Imperial Iced IPA is a daring potpourri of toasted caramel notes, a hint of exotic fruit and a whole lot of warming alcohol.
