The days are getting shorter, the light is getting rarer and the temperatures are slowly falling - time for cosiness and fine, spicy drinks!
This seasonal specialty is shared by the nation: some have longed for the mulled wine season for months, others remember burnt palates and headaches the next morning when they think of the hot wine. Fortunately, there is an alternative that everyone should enjoy and that is easy on the mouth: the delicious mulled wheat from the brewery Gebrouwen door Vrouwen!
The ladies from the Netherlands looked around for a drinkable, drinkable winter beer and did not find one that met their requirements. The broad mass of seasonal Christmas and winter beers is massive, flavorful and of a voluminous stature. That goes wonderfully with icy nights with freezing temperatures and a thick blanket of snow, but it doesn’t harmonize with the mild winter in Holland. On the spur of the moment, the brewers did the only thing that made sense and created a beer themselves that was wintry but not too heavy. Your mulled wheat combines the classic aromas of a wheat beer with Christmas spices: cinnamon, clove and star anise give the beer its wintry shine and conjure up a Christmas atmosphere in the glass without being excessively sweet or too heavy. The fine seasoning elegantly complements the traditional notes of ripe bananas and strong yeast and creates a special kind of wheat.
