毬花 - Marihana
The Japanese word Marihana indicates the relationship between hemp and hops. In German it means “hop blossom”.
Like all beers from the Japanese brewery Coedo, Marihana is also assigned a color context that not only corresponds to the name and label. Marihana is a session IPA that presents a complex variety of aromas with various bitter notes.
Marihana flows into the glass in a light golden color and forms an airy, white head of foam. A wonderful potpourri of hoppy scents rises from the foam. On the nose, delicious citrus notes meet cut grass, the scent of freshly baked cookies and a touch of butter. The cleverly balanced interaction of hops and malt is already exciting when you smell it and makes you extremely excited about the taste. The first sip reveals a light-footed body and pleasant carbonation. A veritable tidal wave of tangy, sharp and infinitely lemony citrus fruit washes over the palate; you can taste bitter-sour grapefruit, juicy passion fruit and a spicy touch of pine resin. Marihana is an elegantly arranged play of aromas of strong bitter notes and tangy acidity, which, despite its intensity, is still wonderfully drinkable. This is mainly thanks to the dry, citrus-spicy finish that stays on the tongue for a long time and definitely leaves you wanting more!
With 4.5% alcohol content, this Session IPA is definitely sessionable and the perfect beer enjoyment for a relaxed evening after work!
