When you think of Advent, you think of contemplative hours with tea and cookies by the fireplace, you think of cosiness, silence, soft-sounding Christmas carols, gently falling snow and nature, which is in a deep hibernation.
Not this year. The Portuguese brewery Musa is really mixing up Christmas this year!
Cookies, singing and sipping tea are all well and good, but this year we’re celebrating Advent with punk in its best form: beer! The wild brewers of Musa are known for their crazy creations, so we are not surprised that the brewery’s Christmas beer is also out of the ordinary. Bock the Xmas is a powerful double buck that will turn your head with an impressive 7.9% alcohol content. Instead of contemplative, fine and festive, this Christmas beer is loud, cheeky and to the point. Musa’s Festbock is Christmas in its most excessive form. We think of hectically blinking fairy lights in all colors of the rainbow, truckloads of tinsel, plastic kitsch on the tree and shrill night instead of silent night.
Musa hit the Christmas madness and created a beer that is your perfect reward for the gift marathon on the morning of the 24th with its voluminous body, warming turns and full-bodied aroma. Better late than never!
