Only the brave few who have enjoyed a cup of Kopi Luwak probably know what cats and coffee have in common. With their oatmeal coffee stout Coffeecat, the brewers at the Polish brewery Rockmill do not refer to cats or cat coffee, but rather to the English idiom "copycat", which describes a shameless imitator.
The brewers have a soft spot for wordplay and like to name their beers after English expressions, which they give a little twist. So Coffeecat is by no means a free rider, but a uniquely delicious, dark beer. The wonderful color and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans are borrowed from a Brazilian variety. Patrocinio is a coffee-growing region in Brazil that produces a particularly full-bodied coffee. The exquisite beans have a flavor profile made up of chocolate, melt-in-the-mouth caramel, nutty notes, cinnamon and nutmeg. This luxurious palette goes perfectly with the natural aroma of a stout: the strong malt tones and the coffee harmoniously intertwine and form a beer spectacle of a special kind. Silky malt forms the basis for chocolate, creamy caramel, freshly brewed coffee and roasted cereals. A fine acidity resonates and counteracts the lush sweetness together with a harmonious bitterness.
If we have the choice, we prefer to drink coffeecat instead of cat coffee!
