A powerful imperial stout from the Baltics that will make you tremble.
With Father Midnight, the Lithuanian brewery Sakiškių alus has launched another highlight. Together with our Estonian colleagues from the Tanker brewery, we created an exclusive blend of toffee caramel and salty licorice that will blow every stout fan's socks off.
Typically Stout, this Imperial Stout also flows into the glass in an opaque deep black. It is crowned by a small, hazelnut-brown foam, which is stirred by a fine bubble of carbon dioxide. The first thing you notice is the complex roasted malt aromas of caramel, dark malts and coffee. There are notes of dark, dried fruits, a touch of licorice and chocolate. A delicious mixture that will definitely make you want to take your first sip. And this one doesn't disappoint at all! A warm, creamy sweetness welcomes you and pampers your tongue with wonderful roasted malt aromas. Caramel, toffee and coffee are accompanied by a nice bitterness, while spicy licorice notes give the beer an interesting saltiness. Father Midnight is medium to heavy bodied and gently carbonated. The 11% vol. Alcohol, in its powerful entirety, is well integrated into the taste and gives the finish a fiery warmth.
Father Midnight is an impressive Russian Imperial Stout that the tsars in old St. Petersburg would certainly have enjoyed just as much as we did.
