Anyone who fears that the name season refers to limited availability can breathe easy: season is not a seasonal phenomenon, but a traditional Belgian brewing method. The saison dates back to a time when Belgian farmers and farmhands spent the winter months brewing beer for the summer. This style of beer is therefore also called Farmhouse Ale.

In recent years, Belgian beers have attracted international attention. They are usually more flavorful, voluminous and contain more alcohol than their German counterparts. The Saison from St. ERHARD is no exception, even if the brewery itself is not from Belgium. The Belgian beer from Bamberg inspires with complex and unusual yeast aromas, which differ fundamentally from those of a standard German wheat beer. Two different yeast strains provide the spicy aroma; They conjure up notes of pepper and clove in the beer. The malt, which is specially imported from Belgium, also ensures more Belgium in the season. The legendary twelve types of malt guarantee a round body and a wonderfully soft, almost velvety mouthfeel.

The Saison from St. ERHARD presents itself in a warm, copper-colored caramel tone in the glass and is crowned by a slightly tinted, fine-pored foam. A fine scent of creamy caramel, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate and freshly baked bread crusts fills the air from the creamy head of foam. The initial sip follows the olfactory first impression and reveals a malty beer with fine bitter notes and an appealing spiciness.

By the way, this beer is also available as a beer brandy , you should definitely try it!
