Gose is a very special beer with an unmistakable character and a long tradition. Originally from Goslar, the unusual style of beer first spread to Leipzig over the centuries. From there the conquest started and the Leipziger Gose became known all over the world.
Gose is one of the sour beers : its unique taste comes from the use of lactic acid bacteria and is a composition of hops, malt, yeast, coriander and salt. The last two ingredients do not fall under the strict regime of the Bavarian Purity Law, but the Gose is still popular in Bavaria.
One of the most famous Gose breweries in the world is the Bayerischer Bahnhof. The people of Leipzig pride themselves on brewing their gose according to a tried and tested, historical recipe. The result speaks for itself: The Original Leipziger Gose is a real treat in sunny gold with a sophisticated range of aromas.
The Gose tastes particularly good to us from the specially designed glass. The tall, slender vessel brings out the character of the Gose wonderfully and also looks pretty chic on the label of the Bayerischer Bahnhof.
