An excellent pale ale from the homeland of the Pilseners.
The far north is known for its preference for bitter Pilseners. Bitter, rough beers are the order of the day here. The master brewers can handle large quantities of hops and can perfectly develop the different sides of the green gold. A greater challenge is the malt, which ideally complements and underlines the hops. The brewers at the Buddelship brewery in Hamburg have taken on this challenge and created a truly masterful pale ale.
Steelyard is a 5.6% ABV pale ale with a ton of flavor. The light beer flows into the glass in a cloudy amber tone and forms a stately, white head of foam. When poured, wonderful scents of oven-fresh bread, soft caramel and fresh citrus fruit arise from the fluffy foam. A hint of pineapple and juicy peach complete the first impression. In the taste test, Steelyard presents itself as distinctly malty: sweet malt aromas bring the taste of warm bread and soft caramel to the tongue. After the malty initial taste, the hops join in and give the palate a tangy freshness that wonderfully complements the malt.
Steelyard is a malty masterpiece that tastes reminiscent of a visit to the bakery. Fresh bread with a crisp crust meets a fine sponge cake base, the flowery-fruity power of Liberty and Cascade contribute to the play of aromas.
