A dike is a type of dam built for flood protection and is a familiar feature of the landscape, especially in northern Germany. Gentle, green dikes stretch for miles along the coast, creating an idyllic setting with grazing sheep, the roaring sea behind them, and the occasional windmill. Paths often line the dike or even the dike, allowing you to walk or cycle with a magnificent view of the sea. This is especially beautiful when the sun shines from a clear sky, seagulls soar in the wind, and a gentle breeze with a salty freshness caresses your nose.
Located right between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, the Hamburg-based Buddelship brewery knows the sea air all too well. So well, in fact, that they’ve captured its essence in a fine beer: Deichbrise is a non-alcoholic hoppy lager that’s as fresh and light as the North Sea breeze on a sunny summer day.
This light-bodied drink has less than 0.5% alcohol by volume and is refined with Citra, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, and Mosaic hops. The added hops transform this simple lager into an appealing craft beer, boasting a wealth of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Deichbrise is light, fruity, fresh, and wonderfully smooth and supple thanks to the barley and oat malt.
