The Häffner brewery’s hop stuffer series consists of a range of dry-hopped beer specialities. The core range is complemented by a seasonal beer: The Hopfenpföpfer Seasonal Special Ale is called Quad Hop Craft Beer by the brewery, thanks to the four types of hops used to brew and dry the beer. Amarillo, Cascade, Chinook and Citra give the beer its flavor. The festive version of a conventional IPA is characterized by its fine hop intensity and strong malt sweetness. Like all beers in the Hopfenstopfer series, this one is dry-hopped and full to the brim with rich hop aromas.
The Seasonal Special Ale from Häffner presents itself in a copper-red tinted amber gold in the glass and has a nice cloudiness. A stable crown of medium-pored foam sits enthroned on the beer and exudes an attractive aroma of roasted malt, roasted nuts and dark fruits. The first sip reveals a powerful body that tickles the taste buds with full-bodied toasty aromas. Creamy caramel, toasted hazelnuts, candied red fruit and brown sugar join in, while the hops add spicy hints of resin, delicate citrus notes and a unerring bitterness. A silky mouthfeel and the subtly coordinated play of aromas make Häffner’s Seasonal Special Ale a real treat for special hours.
