The Andechs Monastery is located on a small hill that overlooks the village of Andechs and a picturesque landscape. From the tower of the monastery church you have an incomparable view of the expansive meadows, the dense, emerald green forests, the lush fields and the lake district, which consists of the glittering waters of the Ammersee, the Pilsensee, the Starnberger See and the Wörthsee. On clear days, a magnificent panorama of the Alps stretches out on the distant horizon. In the middle of this idyll is the beer garden of the monastery brewery, where you can refresh yourself with freshly tapped beer and homemade specialties. The Bergbock fits wonderfully with the atmosphere and the breathtaking surroundings.
The Andechser Bergbock light is an unfiltered brew in sunny gold that shines with an impressive head of stable, densely porous foam and an excellent olfactory first impression. Notes of roasted grain envelop the tip of the nose and combine with floral notes and a hint of fruit to create an irresistible potpourri. The first sip reveals a strong body with a warming 6.9% alcohol content and a delicately seasoned aroma. Full-bodied malt forms the base, creamy blossom honey, meadow herbs, tenderly melting caramel and a hint of apple compote provide powerful undertones. A perfectly balanced hop bitterness elegantly rounds off the tasty beer pleasure.
