The Mainz brewery Kuehn Kunz Rosen dresses its creation with the auspicious name Aufbruch in these poetic words. The Double IPA is another highlight in the craft brewery's top-class range and impresses with an elegant balance of hops and malt. The impressive 8.5% alcohol content is so cleverly integrated into a variety of flavors that the DIPA is dangerously drinkable.
Aufbruch presents itself in an almost naturally cloudy, deep golden orange tone and is topped with an airy head of foam. When poured into the glass, the copper-colored beer exudes a fine mixture of tropical fruit and delicate, creamy caramel. Fresh hops and soft malt form an intense symbiosis that really makes you look forward to the first sip. The initial taste reveals a taste-intensive beer with a creamy consistency and a great interplay of malt and hops. The first impression is wonderfully fruity and juicy: a wave of tropical fruit rolls over the palate before a crunchy, bitter splash of hops puts a temporary end to the sweet hustle and bustle. Soft malt aromas of caramel and roasted grains merge with the refreshing fruitiness of exotic fruit to create a tasty play of aromas; the bitterness always adds small peaks to the harmonious concept and makes the beer rich in contrast and exciting. The dry, strongly bitter finish skilfully rounds off the drinking pleasure.
