A dense forest of exotic brews with colorful labels and rows of funky ingredients; beers that take years to brew; Breweries that wander through world history like nomads and do their restless mischief in the hallowed halls of strangers or friends of theirs; Brews with bitter units in dizzying heights; wild yeast and bacterial strains; blue, red, purple or grass green creations; bearded craft brewers with a distinct obsession for green gold in excess, puffing their pipes and contemplating their next hopped creation — today’s beer landscape is a true wonderland. In order to stay on the ball and not lose touch, beer lovers have to fight their way through a constantly growing thicket of new ideas and their implementation.
For everyone who needs a little break from the hop madness and just wants to drink a beer that is not challenging and controversial, the Mashsee brewery has come up with an uncomplicated, down-to-earth and extremely drinkable light beer. A classic among the birds of paradise, an oasis in the whirlwind of constant innovation.
The traditional Helle brings a pleasant 4.7% alcohol content and an enjoyable symphony of two types of malt and a single hop variety into the glass. One hop, not ten. Despite the shockingly small list of ingredients, the light scores with mild bitterness and a good balance of fresh hops and soft malt. Astonishing!
