We're used to some crazy things from Mike at Nikl Bräu. The passionate brewer has dedicated his heart and soul to beer and always comes up with very special things. Like this Doppelbock: The Old Django is fermented with high-proof Williams brandy.
As it matures, the beer develops a strong pear aroma and the unique warming mouthfeel that is otherwise only known from schnapps. The hoppy Bock impresses with its complex aroma, which has an impressive spectrum from oak to red wine to candied pear. The scent is promising and the taste of Old Django doesn't let up either. Its tasty, hoppy characteristics pamper the palate in a completely unexpected way. A slight acidity rounds off the taste perfectly and gives the heavy fruit aromas a wonderfully light freshness.
The crowning glory is the wonderfully warming finish - a delicious greeting from the pear spirit with which the beer was fermented. Old Django is an unusual bock that will appeal to anyone who wants to challenge their palate with a very special beer specialty.
