The Bierothek® team wishes you a Happy New Year!
What do you get when you combine American know-how with German brewing art? A masterpiece, that’s for sure!
For the second edition of their Bavarian Ale, the brewers at Riegele BierManufaktur have brought real legends on board: the US craft beer pioneers from the world-famous Sierra Nevada brewery. A fabulous brewing collaboration! The result of their joint efforts is a beer that can rightly be described as an aroma bomb. The Bavarian Ale 2 is quite unspectacular, but then blows your mind with a cornucopia of exciting flavor nuances. There are six different types of hops in the Pale Ale and provide a lot of flavor.
The Bavarian Ale 2 flows into the glass in the color of liquid gold and is subtly cloudy. An airy, white head of foam completes the fine beer and also exudes a delicate hop scent. On the nose, white grape meets restrained citrus fruit, quiet passion fruit, peach, apricot, elderflower and freshly mown grass. The full force of this beer cannot be recognized by the smell, but the initial taste surprises with a truckload of hops: a juicy potpourri of tropical fruits refreshes the palate, accompanied by tangy citrus fruits and unripe stone fruit. A light fruit acidity and a great hop bitterness complement the play of aromas. The sparkling carbon dioxide allows the aromas to dance on the tongue and gives the light beer a wonderful lightness.
The Bavarian Ale 2 from Riegele and Sierra Nevada is a slim, refreshing ale that starts off reserved and then surprises you with a fruity taste explosion.
