A Bavarian pale ale? Is something like that possible? Yes that works! And how! However, the Schönram country brewery in Bavaria interpreted it a little differently than how a pale ale is normally brewed.
What is striking about Schönramer is the creamy head of foam that forms in the glass after pouring. After a few minutes, the clear, strong orange tone of the Bavarian Pale Ale emerges. The pleasant smell of hops, which spreads through the nose after a few moments, is particularly noticeable.
Even before the test drink, you seem to be able to guess where the journey is headed. But you are wrong. While the hoppy note of the Bavaria Mandarina variety predominates on the palate, subtle herbal and citrus aromas round off the impression. What remains is a strong but not too dominant hop bitterness. Not exactly typical of a pale ale, the Schönramer impresses with its tangy, finely bubbled body. However, this does not detract from the play of aromas of grapefruit, passion fruit and lime. If you choose the Schönramer Bavarian Pale Ale, you will get a balanced beer with fine aromas that impress with its mild character. A special specialty: American roots combined with the Bavarian adopted homeland - you have to try it.
