Thirsty? How about a Thirsty Ale from the Weißenohe Monastery Brewery?

Golden or Blonde Ale is a top-fermented beer and is often compared to Kölsch or Pale Ale. American brewers developed the cool blonde in the 90s, when craft beer was still a fringe phenomenon. Many die-hard beer drinkers viewed the craft beer movement's new, funky beers with suspicion; the subtly hopped Golden Ale was intended to give them a gentle introduction. It's a long way from industrially produced mass-produced beer with little depth of flavor to creative, aroma-intensive craft beers, the Golden Ale is the perfect way to go!

Beer sommelier Marco Liebig is by no means a beginner in the world of craft beer, but he still enjoys the Thirsty Ale from Weißenohe. The naturally cloudy blonde greets you when pouring with grassy notes and fine lemon peel. The incomparably sweet scent of ripe honeydew melon mixes with juicy oranges and the soft aroma of blossom honey. The initial taste reveals a slim body that impresses with its dry fruitiness of orange and melon. A slight florality with a gentle bitterness creates a complex flavor volume. The subtle bitterness carries through to the finish and benefits from a tart residual sweetness with the aroma of orange peel.

The Thirsty Ale from Weißenohe is an absolutely tasty, top-fermented beer that tastes like more. Marco recommends light, summery pasta dishes, white meat and cheese in all variations.

Thirsty Ale is the perfect thirst quencher when you're thirsty for beer again.
