The Kaiser Bräu from Veldenstein houses a number of different brands under its roof. These include Veldensteiner, the Veldensteiner Bierwerkstatt, the lemonade manufacturer Frucade and Weiss Rössl. Although the beers (and soft drinks) are sold under different names, they have one thing in common: the range is down-to-earth, Franconian and hand-crafted.
One favorite from the collection of traditional brews is the Weiss Rössl Kaiser Hell. This classic full-bodied beer has an average alcohol content of 4.9% and is presented in a sunny straw yellow. A magnificent crown of airy, snow-white foam sits on the gleaming, mountain-stream-clear body and entices you to sip with its tart aroma. The bottom-fermented brew shines with a fine, tart aroma, gentle sweetness and hoppy freshness. The slim beer is balanced and not too demanding.
Due to its uncomplicated character and the mild balance between hops and malt, the Kaiser Hell goes well with light dishes. We love Mediterranean cuisine, so we recommend a lemon chicken from the oven with this beer: crispy baked chicken marinated in olive oil, garlic and lemon zest in a white wine and caper sauce with young potatoes and zucchini. If you like it even more uncomplicated, just serve a salad with the Hellen or drink it alone.
