The appeal of festival beers , in addition to their exclusivity, is also that they awaken our hunting instinct: breweries only produce festival beers on certain occasions, which limits the amount of brews. So if you want to treat yourself to festival beer again and again throughout the entire season, you have to plan the times carefully. If you drank a fine drop for a barbecue at Pentecost, it may not be available until Christmas.
Fortunately, the light festival beer from Hummel is available on various occasions. The brewery serves it at Easter, brews a ration at Pentecost, contributes a brew to the Merkendorfer Kirchweih and sweetens the Christmas season with it. Plenty of opportunities to indulge in this Franconian specialty!
Hummels Festbier has an alcohol content of 5.4% in the glass and is clear gold in this glass. An airy head of foam is enthroned on the shiny body and releases a wonderful scent of buttery pastries, light cereals, lush flowers and freshly mown grass. When drunk, the festival beer presents a malty base that tastes of yeast dough, gently roasted malt, creamy honey and candied fruit. The hops provide hints of woody herbs and an earthy bitterness.
A real celebration, this festival beer!
