That sounds like a pun, but it is like this: The Original Berliner Weisse Marlene becomes Dietrich through storage. The fine Weisse Marlene is bottled after completion and is then allowed to continue fermenting in the bottles for a whole year. Special yeasts and lactic acid bacteria perform their wondrous work during this time and give the beer its sparkling, feather-light character.
Dietrich is presented in a sunny straw yellow and shimmers wonderfully golden when the light falls.
