Everyone needs something different to relax. Some people find it easier to unwind by taking a walk through the forest and listening to nothing but the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves for a few wonderful hours. Others relax with a cup of coffee on the balcony or sofa, go jogging, meditate, read a good book, or practice autogenic training. For us, a cold beer is part of the perfect relaxation ritual. Ulrike Genz agrees. In addition to beer, the Berlin-based brewer loves music, so she's woven the two into a delicious whole.
Music for Relaxation isn't a song, but a New England IPA. Anyone who knows Ulrike knows that this can't be a completely ordinary NEIPA. Ulrike is an expert in sour beers, Berliner Weisse, and wild yeasts—and naturally, she applied this expertise to this brew. She gave a fully brewed NEIPA a strong acid kick using yeast and lactic acid cultures.
Music for Relaxation boasts a hefty 7.5% alcohol by volume and flows into the glass in a magnificent lemon gold. The foam formation is extremely restrained. The aroma and taste are intensely sour, floral, and delicately fruity. Undertones like oven-fresh sourdough bread, funky yeast, and tangy yuzu provide contrast and depth. Wow.
