Sometimes things don’t work out on the first try. The result is rough and uneven, passable enough, but not as magnificent as it could be. Some things require further tweaking to reach their full potential. That’s how it was for Ulrike with her Harald: The brewmaster from the capital was already quite satisfied with her Berlin brown beer, but she sensed there was more to the recipe. With a lot of effort and a keen eye for detail, she revisited the brew and created a second batch.
Harald is based on a traditional brown ale. This style from northern Germany is characterized by its dark character. A variety of roasted malts gives the brew its wonderful aroma and deep brown color. Harald number 1 already fit this profile perfectly, but its successor is even more complex and well-rounded.
Schneeeules Harald V2 pours an opaque mahogany brown into the glass, crowned with a delicate head of fine-pored, hazelnut-brown foam. A hint of funky yeast and mild roasted aromas tickle the nose. The first sip reveals an elegant combination of crisp acidity and full-bodied malt notes. Oven-fresh bread, dark caramel, espresso, and hints of red fruits like cherry and plum unite to create an unparalleled taste experience. A successful second round!
