In the series of down-to-earth, Franconian beer specialties, Edelhopf represents the indispensable pilsner in the range of the brewers from the Brauhaus am Kreuzberg. With this classic, however, the team did not rely on the conventional recipe, but gave it its very own touch with creativity and a lot of hops.
Edelhopf from the Brauhaus am Kreuzberg is a round Pilsner with a strong 4.9% alcohol content and an extra portion of hops. The green gold affects the smell and taste of the beer and gives it subtle notes of freshly cut grass, herbs and tangy citrus fruits. In the glass, the beer initially presents itself like its conventional counterparts: a stately crown of snow-white, airy foam sits enthroned on a crystal-clear and shiny golden body. But you can already sense the plus of hops in the enticing scent: the classic hop flower with a light malt base is joined by fruity citrus notes and a hint of green hop cones. The taste follows the first impression and scores with a refreshing initial taste and a successful balance of soft, sweet malt and strong hops. Notes of bread crust and sun-ripened grain form a tasty foundation on which a small hop firework explodes. Grass, herbs, lime, grapefruit, summer flower meadow and a crisp bitterness harmonize wonderfully with the malt and make Edelhopf a tasty drink for every occasion.
