Most brewery startups are based on a great passion for drinking beer. Not so at Josef Langwieser’s Edelbierschmiede: Founder Josef admitted in an interview with the Bavarian Beer Dudes that he rarely drank beer before opening his own brewery. Rather than enjoying the end result, he was more attracted to the brewing process itself. After the trained master carpenter experienced brewing live twice, his fingertips were itching to try the whole thing out himself. With the help of relevant literature, a gas burner, a bucket converted into a brewing kettle and hops from his brother’s cultivation, he started his first brewing attempts and got a taste for it. Today he rents space from established breweries and brews his brews on their system. Josef Langwieser’s Edelbierschmiede enjoys an enthusiastic following and has become an integral part of the craft beer scene.
So that you can consume his sophisticated brews with the attention they deserve, the brewer has recently also introduced a beer vessel with his logo. The glass jug features a stylized hop cone and the name of the brewery and holds half a liter of barley juice. With it you can toast the resourceful craftsman and enjoy your beer with all your senses.
Cheers to Josef and his handmade creations!
