Even if Münster is quite a long way from Munich, the Münster brewery Finne brews a pretty good Helles . The beer style from the south has a long tradition in and around Bavaria and is still popular today. Thanks to its balanced character, the light goes fantastically with the local cuisine: Hearty dishes such as roasts, snacks or sausages taste just as good as a yeast dumpling with vanilla sauce and poppy seeds, apple strudel or a freshly fried donut. Because the brew cleverly balances hops and malt and is neither too bitter nor too sweet, it can also be enjoyed with northern cuisine. The Helle is a true all-rounder and is also a real treat on its own.
The Münster brewers have selected Pilsener and Munich malt for their example and combined the exquisite grain with the hop varieties Hallertauer Perle, Spalt Select and Hallertauer Mittelfrüh. Despite the abundance of green gold, malt and hops are balanced: the mild 21 bitter units and the gentle hints of freshly mown grass and summer flowers meet a full-bodied, soft sweetness that tastes of bread and honey. Soft carbon dioxide and a slim body complete the pleasure experience.
A light beer is always possible, that is especially true for this fine variant from Finne!
